Exactly :-). I think that it can be disapointing, when discovering key(), that it doesn't handle several documents automagically. But I am convinced that if we try to define exactly how we would like it to behave in case of several documents (in general and with a minimum desire for efficiency), in particular the question "what should it return?", then the WG's choices become more clear.
