It's a community effort to define some extension libraries for XPath/XQuery/XSLT which have very well defined semantics (approaching the rigour that W3C tries to use with its standards) and in some cases large test suites as well. EXPath File and Binary are probably the most well-specified and 'complete' John Lumley
