Looks like you haven't got a match for XMLData, the root node, so add ; <xsl:template match="XMLData"> <xsl:apply-templates /> </xsl:template> that wouldn't be needed, as it is the same as the default template. Also The root node is never an element, if XMLData is teh top level elemnt the root node is its parent.
