I hope that either the W3C proposes a separate language that does include the ability to "drop out" to ECMAScript+DOM on a pattern match, OR, that the industry has the courage not to introduce conflicting extensions that do this, because six months to a year from now, I doubt that will be a single widely used commercial XSL parser that DOESN'T have a Java or Script hook in it.
